Now I caught a bug!!!.....Help!

When I start Outlook Express, it now takes friggin' forever to try to connect to my provider. It usually just times out and says it's unavailable. But when I watch the Zone Alarm icon in the tray, it shows activity. Eventually it does connect, but I know something is going on. I have been getting some messages returned as undeliverable (that I didn't send, of course.) I've run ever spyware, ad-ware, and trojan program I have. Help.

P.s. Should I just switch to another e-mail program? (and if so, which one?)

Outlook has never worked right on my computer. I just use MSN mail.

I use the account that I got thru my provider...

hell, OE isn't even enabled on our PC.
like, if you see a like that says [email protected][/email]]contact us at [email protected], it won't open OE....

did that make sense?


anyways, I've been told that OE is a HUGE open-door thing for virus action and whatnot.
same goes for MSN Messenger.

The undeliverable messages could be due to someone spoofing your e-mail address when trying to send out spam. If you use a name based e-mail (like [email protected]), the spammers will try every combination and sometimes luck out. I get those occasionally in one of my accounts where I use my full name. Never see any on my megalithanod accounts (as I can't understand why as I have problems spelling it at times). I wouldn't worry about it too much.

As for Outlook going slow - first off I am sure you are running an anti virus program, and with that run 'SpyBot Searcha nd Destroy' and AdAware to check for spyware if you aren't running something already. Also make sure you have all the patched from MS for outlook and the OS.

Other than that, there are some other e-mail programs that are out there. I'd have to dig to find the free ones. but most ISPs are using Internet interfaces for their e-mail apps online, and I have a good response from the web based Comcast Client, and the one with the web hosting do well.
